Following completion of a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, Ms. Tyler received a Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of Utah Department of Family & Preventive Medicine with an emphasis on international health and poverty. Ms. Tyler later received her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S. J. Quinney College of Law.

Ms. Tyler is licensed to practice law in Utah, which authorizes her to practice federal law (social security disability law and immigration law) in every state throughout the United States. Ms. Tyler currently practices these two types of federal law in Afton, Wyoming.

Ms. Tyler earned a Certificate in Public Interest Law & Policy by volunteering over 100 hours in the College of Law’s Pro Bono Initiative Legal Clinics during law school. She also interned with Immigration Legal Services, Utah Legal Services, as well as with Judge David Nuffer with the U.S. District Court, District of Utah, during which she gained valuable experience researching, analyzing, and drafting opinions concerning a variety of federal law issues.

Ms. Tyler developed Spanish language skills while living in Asuncion, Paraguay as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she enjoys trail running, reading good books, skiing, biking, design and fashion, and backpacking with her family.

Virginius “Jinks” Dabney, Ms. Tyler’s father, graduated from the University of Utah Law School over 50 years ago. Mr. Dabney specialized his law practice in Social Security Disability law and Utah Workers Compensation law for over 50 years; he is considered an expert in both areas of law.

Jinks claims that he will no longer practice law only after it is no longer fun for him. He loves the law and loves to contribute to the lives of others.
